Zach is homegrown in the Northland, having gone to high school at Duluth Marshall before graduating summa cum laude from St. Scholastica with a degree in journalism.
Before officially joining the news team, Zach worked for two and a half years as a production assistant and photographer for the NewsCenter.
He was a regular writer for St. Scholastica's student newspaper, The Cable, and also spent time in Washington, D.C. as an intern writer for The McLaughlin Group.
Zach worked for one year as a multimedia journalist in the Northland's NewsCenter newsroom before switching to the sports office to become the station's weekend sports anchor.
Zach has grown up around Northland sports, having been both a participant and a spectator. He was the soccer goalkeeper at Marshall for four years and also played baseball during his senior year as a Hilltopper.
From there, he played two seasons for the St. Scholastica Saints men's soccer team, and has also had several years experience coaching area youth soccer teams.
Zach is excited to continue his experience with the Northland sports scene at the station, and enjoys covering the same teams he watched and played against as a kid.
