Nick Minock happily returned to Duluth and KBJR 6 and KDLH 3, where he began his journalism career as an intern.
In addition to telling stories that positively impact the Northland, Nick enjoys telling stories that “pull the curtain” on what is happening in politics and government. His reports provide information on what you need to know on the issues that impact you most.
Before making the move back to Duluth, Nick was as an Assignment Editor at the CBS owned and operated television station in Minneapolis.
As Assignment Editor at WCCO-TV, Nick helped run the assignment desk by directing news crews on the field, helped coordinate news coverage with network affiliates, responded to breaking news, and assisted in investigations while building relationships with sources on a day to day basis.
Before working in Minneapolis, Nick lived just north of Cloquet on his family farm.
Nick graduated with honors from St. Cloud State University with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and a B.A. in Communication Studies. Nick also graduated from Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College with an A.A. in Liberal Arts.
While working for the student-run television station at SCSU, Nick won numerous awards for his work as a reporter.
His awards include a first place award for writing and a first place award for general assignment hard news in the annual College Production Awards competition from the Upper Midwest Emmy Chapter. In 2014, Nick won a NBNA Eric Severeid Award for hard feature reporting and a BEA award for feature reporting.
When he isn't working on stories, Nick enjoys volunteering, spending time with family, and reading at the local coffee shops in Cloquet and Duluth.
