Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A familiar face to Minnesota politics says the state needs an aggressive State Auditor who will stand up for DFL values - and not just balance the books.
Former Minnesota House Majority Leader, and 2010 Gubernatorial Candidate, Matt Entenza made a stop in Duluth Wednesday to kick off his campaign.
Entenza pointed to progressive values including fighting Voter ID legislation and going after corporate giveaways.
Entenza is vying for the seat currently held by Democrat Rebecca Otto and hopes his rural roots will make him stand out.
"As a native of Worthington, Minnesota, I think it's important to have someone who has the sensibility of coming from Greater Minnesota and understanding it's not all about the Twin Cities, it's about making sure that all the regions of our state have a fair shake," Entenza said.
Some, including Governor Mark Dayton, are questioning Entenza's move to wait to file for office until the final hour.
Entenza served as a senior advisor to the Governor during the last few years.
Otto carries the state party's endorsement.
