St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Minnesota House Committee will hold a public hearing Tuesday on the controversial Medical Marijuana bill.

The proposed measure would allow people who suffer from cancer, PTSD and HIV to use marijuana if their doctors recommend it.

A Medical Marijuana expert, Minnesotans for Compassionate Care and seriously ill patients who would benefit from the legislation are expected to testify.

The hearing is scheduled to get underway at 2:15 in the State Office building in St. Paul.

The bill was introduced last year by Rep. Carly Melin (DFL-Hibbing).
