St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A measure targeting the sale and use of synthetic drugs in Minnesota is now on its way to the House floor for a full vote.

The House Ways and Means committee cleared the bill, sponsored by Rep. Erik Simonson (DFL-Duluth) during a vote Tuesday morning.

The legislation prevents the sale of the substance, governs the misbranding of synthetics and expands the definition of the word of drug.

It also calls for $163,000 for education awareness for children and young adults and $5,000 to fund the board of pharmacy for its work.

Nearly one third of the money spent on education will be reimbursed by the Federal Government.
