Hayward, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The leader of the LCO Harvest Camp is bidding for a Senate seat in the Wisconsin Legislature.
Paul DeMain announced his bid for Wisconsin's 29th State Senate District seat over the weekend.
DeMain has been outspoken in his criticism of the proposed Gogebic Taconite iron ore mine in the Penokee Hills.
DeMain is the CEO of a publishing and marketing business, called Indian Country Communications.
The 29th district covers Bayfield, Marathon, Barron, Price, Rusk and Taylor counties.
DeMain's home is in Hayward, but he grew up in Wausau.
Republican Incumbent Senator Jerry Petrowski is also from Wausau.
