Hamel, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Hennepin County Commissioner and former state representative, Jeff Johnson, announced Sunday that he's running for governor.
Johnson served six years as a state representative and was elected to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners in 2008.
Johnson says his focus will be on jobs, education and "making government work."
Johnson says he'll seek, and abide by, his party's endorsement for governor at the 2014 Republican Party of Minnesota State Convention.
Johnson joins Scott Honour in seeking the GOP nomination for challenging Democratic Governor Mark Dayton in 2014.
