Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Senator Roger Reinert has announced that he is running for re-election for the District 7 Senate Seat.

Last month during the Senate District 7 DFL Convention, Senator Reinert received the senate district 7 endorsement.

Reinert, 41, was elected back in 2010 to the District 7 Senate seat for the Minnesota Seante and is now running for the position again as the incumbent.

Prior to his election to the Senate, Reinert served one term in the Minnesota House. He also served as an at large Duluth City Councilor for five years, and was elected City Council President twice.

In February, the Minnesota Judicial Special Redistricting Panel released new district boundaries based on the most recent census information. Some district lines in Minnesota underwent big changes, however District 7 changed very little remaining within existing boundaries.
