St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A measure strengthening Minnesota's laws on the sale and use of Synthetic Drugs is one step closer to a full vote.

The House Health and Human Services Finance committee approved Representative Erik Simonson's (DFL-Duluth) bill Monday evening.

The proposed legislation prevents the sale of the substance, governs the misbranding of synthetics and expands the definition of the word of drug.

The bill heads next to the Ways and means committee, and if approved there, will head to the House floor for a vote.
