Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Rep. Erik Simonson (DFL-Duluth) has announced his plans to run for re-election for his House District 7B seat this year.
Rep. Simonson arrived in St. Paul in 2012 as a freshman lawmaker.
Since then, he was tapped to be the chairman of the Select committee on Controlled Substances and Synthetic Drugs. Just last week the committee presented the Speaker of the House with recommendations to curb the sale of synthetic drugs.
"I believe I have worked hard on behalf of my constituency and I am asking for your support to continue those efforts. I am proud to represent all of you in St. Paul, and I do my best to make decisions based on my own principles coupled with the needs of all Duluthians," Rep. Simonson wrote on his website on Monday.
Rep. Simonson says he'll fight for a number of projects during the 2014 session, including bonding items such Spirit Mountain, Wade Stadium and Lake Superior College.
