Challengers line up to unseat DFL Rep. Carly Melin

Hibbing, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The race for the Minnesota House of Representatives is heating up on the Iron Range.

Roger Weber, a third generation miner from Nashwauk, filed his papers Friday seeking the Republican Ticket in the District 6A race.

He also ran in the 2012 race.

John Finken, a steelworker from Warba, is running on the Democratic ticket.

The seat is currently held by 2nd term DFL representative Carly Melin of Hibbing, who has not yet filed her papers.

Meanwhile in the 5B house race, Justin Eichorn has filed papers to run on the Republican ticket against incumbent DFL Rep. Tom Anzelc.

In the 6B race, incumbent DFL Rep. Jason Metsa is the only candidate who has filed so far.

Candidates have until Tuesday before 5 p.m. to file.
