Duluth, MN (Northlands NewsCenter)
-- The gloves are off for Minnesota's Eight Congressional District race.
Rick Nolan secured victory in the DFL primary, pitting him against Republican Congressman Cravaack.

Cravaack and a group of supporters met at the London Road Rental Center to push for small business support.

The congressman was quick to respond to criticism of Nolan and his congressional counterparts calling them less than productive.

Cravaack says the Republican controlled House has passed a plethora of bills, but the Senate has held them up.

"These are jobs bills. These are bills that will create jobs in the country and unfortunately Senator Reid has not picked them up to allow for an open and honest debate on each one of these bills," said Congressman Cravaack.

Cravaack defeated long standing 8th District Democrat Jim Oberstar in the 2010 elections.
