DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - House District 7B Candidate Jay Fosle got an endorsement from a fellow Duluth City Councilor Monday evening.

Councilor Garry Krause endorsed Fosle talking about his similar independent point of view.

Fosle is not running on any party affiliation and says he is running for the people.

"Jay will have a very strong seat down at the House because there will be no party whipping him, telling him what to do with a house whip, but instead, they will be courting is vote on each issue and that will be very important for the residents of Duluth," said Krause.

"This is a huge endorsement, and I want to thank Councilor Krause for having the trust in me for the citizens that he represents now and to give me this endorsement," said Fosle.

Duluth Fire Fighter Erik Simonson as well as Republican Travis Silvers are also vying for the 7B seat.

DFL incumbent Kerry Gauthier dropped out from the race last week under pressure from his party after a sex scandal.
