Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- A Duluth City Councilor is now in the running for Minnesota's 7B House seat, following reports of an alleged sex act at a rest stop by the district's current representative.

Jay Fosle wrote on his facebook page that he'll be running as a write–in candidate.

Current Representative, Kerry Gauthier will still appear on the ballot this November, but House Speaker, Republican Kurt Zellers, has asked Gauthier to resign amid the allegations.

The DFL party has said they plan to talk with Gauthier about the situation. Meanwhile, Gauthier was reportedly hospitalized last week for unspecified reasons.

Republican Travis Silvers is also running for the seat.

No word on whether Gauthier plans to step–down, or whether he'll be asked to by the party.
