St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- Governor Mark Dayton and leaders of the DFL party are backing a budget they say will close the states deficit.

Governor Dayton's office released their proposal that would boost taxes for the wealthiest 2% of Minnesotans and would close the deficit by fiscal years 2014-2015.

The frame work of their proposal also includes a large investment of $725-million to education. The governor's budget also will repay all the money borrowed from Minnesota schools in the next two years.
