St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A senate bill vowing to fight the sale of Synthetic drugs now includes an education component.

In a 53 to 1 vote, the Senate added a public awareness campaign calling for several state departments to include synthetic drugs in their educational programming.

The bill already calls for changing the definition of the term 'drug', and gives the Board of Pharmacy 'cease and desist' authority.

A companion bill, authored by Representative Erik Simonson (DFL-Duluth), already received House approval.
