Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A packed room at the Public Safety Building greeted Governor Mark Dayton Wednesday night as he kicked off a statewide tour touting his budget proposal.

State officials say "Meetings with Mark" is an en effort to connect the Governor with Minnesotans about investments in education, job creation and improving lives of the middle-class families.

The Governor's latest budget revision featured a $640 million investment in new funding for education, $86.5 million for job creation and economic development, and $120 million in aid to local governments.

Duluth is the first of several stops for the Governor.
