Duluth, MN (Northlands NewsCenter)
-- Minnesota Senator Roger Reinert of Duluth has announced he will seek another term this November.

The former Duluth city councilor has served two terms in Minnesota's legislature, first in the house and then moving to the senate.

The Democrat and civics professor at Lake Superior College says returning Minnesota to a state of financial sanity will be his main issue this fall

"The formost question should be what are we going to do about Minnesota's finances. When are we going to stop the tricks, when are we going to stop the gimmicks? When are we going to go back to a time when Minnesota was financially sound? And our local partners, city councils, school boards and counties could count on the state."

Senator Reinert says he will consider this session personally successful if his synthetics drug bill is signed by Governor Dayton.

So far, Reinert is running unopposed.

All 201 lawmakers are up for re-election this year.
