St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - University of Minnesota students spent Thursday day at the capitol.
The Student Association visited with lawmakers to advocate for more financial support.
Governor Mark Dayton told students he would try and allocate 5 million dollars for the college.
The group has about a dozen meetings with lawmakers promoting HEAPR funding, the Chemical Sciences, Advanced Materials Building, and student debt.
Student Associates travel to the Capitol twice in the spring semester to meet with lawmakers and represent the concerns of the students at UMD.
