DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The body of the 13-year-old Duluth teen Jefferson Bowen Jr. was found by a boater Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say a boater found the body in Lake Superior at about 1:30 pm Sunday, about two miles up the shore from the mouth of the Lester River.
Authorities and volunteers have been searching for the body along Amity Creek, Lester River and Lake Superior since Bowen went missing Tuesday.
Bowen was last seen Tuesday afternoon at a local swimming area known as The Deeps.
Jefferson was said to be over taken by the fast moving water of Amity Creek after he dove in.
Currents were unsafe after heavy rains caused the waters to rise and become unsafe.
Authorties say the the Bowen family is relieved the body was found.
