Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A North Dakota man is facing six criminal felony charges following a fatal accident on Woodland Ave.
Hawk Edwards, 19, has been charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation. He is also charged with criminal vehicular operation resulting in great bodily harm and criminal vehicular homicide or operation.
The Jan. 19th accident left Paula Bergren, 65, dead and her grandson, Everett Bergren, 13, in critical condition and on life support.
The accident happened just after 7:30 a.m. after Edwards' Ford pickup collided head on with Bergren's Ford Taurus.
Police said alcohol and excessive speed were both factors in the fatal accident.
