Virginia, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Virgina's Police Chief has officially agreed to resign from his post.

Dana Waldron has been with the department for nearly 33 years.
This comes after numerous allegations of misconduct and bullying in the workplace.

He fought to keep his job and did so...but after what some considered a continued hostile work environment, he has agreed to step aside.

Friday's mediation session lasted all day between Waldron a number of city council members along with attorneys.

An agreement was reached and Waldron's resignation will be in effect May 25th.

As part of the agreement, Waldron will be paid $130,000.
