Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The blood alcohol level of the driver in the fatal crash in Billing’s Park last week was three times the legal limit.
Recent UMD graduate Ashley Ganyo’s blood alcohol content level was .249% when her SUV went off the road and plunged into the St. Louis River Dec. 4th.
The Superior Police Department was tipped off by a jogger who saw a partially submerged car in the water at the end of 21st St. in Billing’s Park just beyond a boat landing.
A preliminary autopsy report revealed the 24-year-old died due to drowning, although police suspect weather and speed may have also been contributing factors in the crash.
Additional toxicology reports will be released in a few weeks.
