St. Paul, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- If Sen. Roger Reinert had his way, football fans would be flocking to Duluth for Vikings games.
Sen. Reinert has introduced a proposal to build a new Viking's stadium in Duluth.
In a letter to Governor Mark Dayton, he states that building a stadium in Duluth would be economically advantageous and that the city is more than able to spread that economic growth throughout the state.
The stadium would be built southwest of the downtown Duluth area on 500 acres of what was once the US Steel /Atlas Cement Works Site.
Sen. Reinert proposes that the state's portion of stadium funding be paid through the passage of his proposed Sunday Sales legislation.
