Duluth, MN (Northlands NewsCenter)
-- Jeffery Watson, the 13-year-old Duluth boy that was submerged in Lake Superior for more than 30 minutes yesterday, is on life support in Minneapolis. Watson's Pastor says his father intends to end life support.
Pastor Gabriel Green of Church of Restoration Twin-Ports says that the family is waiting for him to arrive at the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis to pray with Jeffery and his family. Watson's Mother and Father are by their sons side.
Pastor Green says Jeffery and his mother have been church members since they moved to Duluth from Chicago last year.
The teen had reportedly gone under near the Ice House, a landmark just off the lake walk in Duluth's Canal Park Monday evening.
Authorities say the teen was in cold waters of Lake Superior for 32 minutes before rescue crews were able to pull him out.
He was taken by ambulance to Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital where he fought for his life.
Watson was transferred to the Twin Cities yesterday.
