Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Governor Scott Walker confirms that Kestrel Aircraft will be opening a new manufacturing plant in Superior.
The new plant will create up to 600 permanent jobs by 2016. The company, founded in 2010, will also be moving its headquarters to Superior.
It is the biggest announcement of new jobs for Superior since WWII.
The news comes after six months of negotiations between Kestrel and the city.
Two state agencies, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Develop Authority, partnered with local officials to bring Kestrel's’s expansion to Superior.
