Virginia, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A 33-year-old Virginia man has been charged for allegedly ramming his car into that of a State Trooper's and sending police officers on a high speed chase.

Kevin Michael Korte has been charged with use of deadly force against a peace officer or correctional employee, 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon, fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and a DUI. Three of Korte's charges are felonies.

Korte then allegedly led another trooper on a high speed chase before authorities were able to arrest him.

Korte is being held at the St. Louis County Jail.

Korte's bail has been set at $50,000.

An omnibus hearing is scheduled for May, 21.
