Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Police have charged a 26-year old Bovey man with attempted murder after a shooting left two pople in critical condition in Grand Rapids Saturday night, according to Grand Rapids Police.
The charges were filed Monday morning in Itasca County. In addition to the attempted murder charges, 26-year old William Levi Payne, of Bovey also faces 1 count of kidnapping, 1 count of terroristic threats, 2 butrglary counts, 1 count of 2nd degree assault, and 1 count of violating an order for protection.
The shooting happened on the 500 block of 10th Ave NW in Grand Rapids at about 8:30 p.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found two victims suffering from gun shot wounds.
The victims have been identified as 32-year-old Paul Russell Johnson of Grand Rapids and 59-year-old Rosemary Oberg-Johnson of Grand Rapids.
Both victims were airlifted to a Duluth hospital and are listed in critical condition.
The Grand Rapids Police Department and the Minnesota BCA Crime Team are investigating the shooting and the events leading up to the shooting.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Itasca County Sheriff's Department and Meds 1 Ambulance Service also assisted in this incident.
