Austin Davis, who was found guilty for his role in the brutal stabbing murder of 93-year-old Irena Roszak in Sawyer County, returned to court today for resentencing.

The Judge reduced the 18 year olds sentence to 15 years.

Davis will serve 8 years in prison, the remaining 7 years will be under extended supervision.

Davis is also being given credit for 3 years already served, so the extended supervision could begin after 5 years.

Davis had pleaded guilty to second degree intentional homicide in May of 2009 and was originally sentenced to 25 years in prison and 15 years probation in January of 2011.

Davis' attorney had requested a new pre-sentence investigation pointing to errors in the initial investigation done by the state.

The pre-sentence investigation had said Davis was convicted of Burglary, which he had not been.

The judge ruled that the state should conduct a more thorough investigation, which lead to todays re-senencing.
