The dates for a recall primary and election for Wisconsin’s Governor and four Senators has been set.
Earlier this week the G.A.B. said there are enough valid signatures to trigger a recall election for the four republican senators facing recall in the state.
Although the G.A.B. needs to finish checking for duplicated in the Governor’s and Lieutenant Governor’s petitions, they say there are likely enough valid signatures to force recall elections in those races as well.
A judge gas assigned May 8th as the date for the primaries and June 5th for the election.
The G.A.B. says it wants all of the elections to be on the same day to save the taxpayers money.
“I think the big win here for taxpayers in the state of Wisconsin are going to occur at the same time so we are not spending extra dollars to do elections one after the other after the other,” said Joe Olson, An Attorney for Republican Senators.
It is estimated that nine million dollars has been spent so far on this recall.
