DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) The 34 year old suspect was taken into custody safely just before 1pm.
Police say the neighborhood will be re-opened shortly.
A flash-bang grenade was set off in the house to get the suspect to come out.
When he exited he was taken into custody.
The stand-off in West Duluth shut down W. 5th Street for several hours.
According to witnesses on the scene, a man inside a home near the corner of 39th Ave. W. and W. 5th Street was threatening to blow himself up.
Two women and one to two children were able to escape the home via an alley on the side of the house, according to neighbors.
Neighbors say they believe the man inside is involved in the military somehow.
Along with police, army personnel were occupying the area around the house.
Duluth Police have set up a mobile command post outside the home.
Police received the call around 9:30 a.m.
The stand-off ended just before 1:00p.m.
