Biwabik Township, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- One teen had to be airlifted to the hospital after he crashed his off-road motorcycle into a 4-wheeler.
On Saturday, May 20th around 12pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department was called to a crash in Biwabik Township on Pettit Road.
An initial investigation revealed that 15 year old Joshua Jarvela was driving his off-road motorcycle behind his friend who was driving a 4-wheeler.
When the 4-wheeler slowed down due to muddy road conditions, Jarvela crashed into the rear of the 4-wheeler.
Jarvela was transported by the Virginia Ambulance to Cotton, MN where he was then airlifted to St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. Authorities did not reveal Jarvela's condition, but said that he sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Gilbert Police Department, Biwabik Township First Responders, Biwabik Ambulance and the Virginia Ambulance all responded to the scene.
This accident remains under investigation.
