Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Two teenagers have been arrested and charged for disorderly conduct after allegedly entering into the Superior High School illegally back in February.
19 year old Cody A Chaffee and 19 year old Brittney A. Kemi, two college students, have been charged for disorderly conduct after they allegedly entered into Superior High School unlawfully.
Both teenagers have cooperated with police and in an interview with authorities, they said that they were just feeling "adventurous" and never intended to damage or steal property within the school. Surveillance inside the school confirmed that Chaffee and Kemi never meant to damage or steal anything from the school.
Both teens stated that they had located a ladder leaning against the building so they climbed up to the roof top. Both admittedly stated that they were being "adventurous" and climbed on top of the school for fun. They encountered an open door that they then entered and proceeded to run about inside the building. An alarm was tripped at some point and they fled the building.
Upon consulting with the District Attorney's office, it was determined that the elements of the crime of burglary did not apply, nor did any other sort of trespassing charge. Therefore, they were charged with Disorderly Conduct.
Their court date has not yet been released.
