Minneapolis, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Police have confirmed that University of Minnesota Gopher football player Gary Tinsley has been found dead in his on-campus apartment.
According to our NBC partners at Kare 11, Tinsley's roommate called campus police after finding the senior linebacker unresponsive early this morning. First Responders were unable to revive Tinsley.
The U of M Police and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office do not believe this is criminal in nature, but are trying to determine a cause of death.

Tinsley is originally from Jacksonville, Florida and was studying at the Carlson School of Business at the U of M.
