Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD senior center Jack Connolly was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) offensive player of the week on Tuesday following his weekend performance against North Dakota.
The Bulldogs captain and Duluth native had a hand in all six of his team's goals, including five on Saturday night, as UMD split the weekend series against the Sioux at AMSOIL Arena.
Connolly now ranks second in the nation and the WCHA in both points (48) and assists (31), and he also has picked up a point in 27 of the Bulldogs' 30 games this season.
He tallied an assist on UMD's lone goal in Friday night's game, the same night he set a school record by skating in his 154th consecutive contest. On Saturday, he recorded three more assists and scored two goals to lead UMD to a 5-4 home win.
