Proctor, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A 24 year old man who authorities believe has a mental disorder could be in trouble after officers allegedly caught him breaking in the windows of three cop cars.

According to Proctor Police Chief Walter Wobig, the man allegedly wandered out of his assisted living home in the early hours of Tuesday, June 19th and walked almost two miles to the Proctor Police Department.

An officer on duty noticed the man in one of the surveillance cameras. The officer went out to the parking lot to find out what the man was up to.

Officials believe that when the suspect saw the officer, he may have panicked and allegedly began throwing rocks at one Proctor Police car and two Duluth police cars. The windshields and some of the side windows were smashed in. The cars also sustained some scratches from the rocks.

Officers were able to detain the man. Chief Wobig believes the man has been taken back to his assisted living home.

The incident has been handed over to county attorneys who are looking over the evidence to determine whether or not charges will be pressed.

Chief Wobig says that he is just glad that no one was hurt during the incident and that no private property was damaged.
