. Legendary Denfeld coach and teacher Dick Swanson is retiring as Hunters girl's basketball coach. He had a 301-240 record in 21 seasons and will continue to coach softball and teach at the school.

. A group of investors led by legendary golf pro Mark Carlson of Nemadji and partners -- including two hockey legends -- have purchased the former GoodSports in Superior.
In order to insure success, the group has hired local burger magnate and night club owner Nick G. Patronas to perform his magic at the new locale. Yum, yum: Patronas will be bringing back, by popular demand, his world-famous Charburger. He will also be emulating Duluth's hottest night club, Ace's on First, which has taken the area by storm.
