Duluth Business Helps Companies Stay Technologically Advanced

By KBJR News 1

In the world of ever changing technology, maintenance and upgrades are essential to stay current.

That's exactly what one Duluth based company focuses on not only for itself but for other businesses across the Northland.

In this week's "Invest in the Northland" Laura Langemo highlights Compudyne...a Northland company that's "making it work."

Technology is both a modern marvel and a necessary evil... leaving businesses with no choice but to get with the times.

"I'm constantly working with business owners, reminding them that whether they know it or not its crept on them, meaning their dependence on technology."

Compudyne is a Northland business that developed 20 years ago to assist companies with computer maintenance.

"Compudyne provides technical solutions for businesses. We're a businesses to businesses consulting company. It's hardware, its software, and it's service."

The company first opened in Hibbing in the 1980s, but co-owner Mark Baron had a desire to open another location in Duluth which eventually became the company headquarters.

"We had a few peripheral customers in Duluth and whenever I'd come back I would get this sick feeling in my stomach like this is where I belong."

Expanding with technology, Compudyne has hired 20 people in the last three years and is regularly developing new positions.

"We're presenting and providing good paying jobs in a really good and healthy community and family centered place to work."

Compudyne plans to stay fluid, rolling with whatever changes the future may bring.

Since opening the Hibbing and Duluth offices Compudyne has continued to expand opening offices in both Virginia, Minnesota and Marquette, Michigan.

Compudyne has most recently made two new hires to its Duluth technical service staff.
