Personalizing Your Furniture

By KBJR News 1

After working at the Saw Mill for years... Nick Nelson and his wife Sarah Millslagel felt it was a no brainer to take over the business when it was put up for sale.

"Enough people were calling with a need for the store to still be here, so we decided let's give it a go," Saw Mill co-owner Nick Nelson.

The Saw Mill provides an array of high quality furniture made from natural wood.

"The pieces of furniture that we sell if you don't abuse them will last you 30 years to the rest of your life and that is where the savings tend to come into play with solid wood furniture... the longevity of the piece," says Nelson.

These products are also environmentally friendly as they are made from natural resources.

"Solid wood furniture has a much lower presence of VOCs or Volatile Organic Compounds found in them versus particle board," says Saw Mill co-owner Sarah Millslagel.

All of the furniture comes unpainted... giving customers the ability to use their creativity in finishing the furniture with their own personal touch.

"That's what's really great about this furniture is that the sky is the limit and you're really only limited by your own imagination as what you can do," says Millslagel.

The Saw Mill had a presence in the Northland for nearly 30 years...now Nick and Sarah, as a team, hope to keep the tradition alive for years to come.

"I'm probably the one percent of people in the world that likes to spend every second with their husband," says Millslagel.

The Saw Mill will also paint or decorate the furniture you buy at their store if that's your choice.
