New Gym Opens in Superior

By KBJR News 1

After having her fourth child Gina Amatuzio decided she wanted to get back in shape... which then drove her into entering a figure competition.

"It took me about 6 months to get into shape for that and after that was finished I was kind of at a loss of where I was going to go," says Amatuzio.

When Amatuzio couldn't find a gym that had all the services she was looking for... she decided to open PhyEd Health Club in Superior.

"When my husband and I came up with the name of PhyEd we wanted to go back to the basics of physical education and what you need to do to get results," says Amatuzio.

PhyEd offers a variety of classes and nutritional programs... along with equipment that will keep its clients entertained during those long workouts.

"We have treadmills that are ipod compatible and we have virtual reality bikes that you can play video games on or race your partner next to you," says Amatuzio.

Amatuzio also works as a body building and figure competition trainer and has a staff of professional instructors.

"I've worked out in a few facilities in the Duluth area and what I find here is that there is a full range of services and equipment and the quality staff that I was looking for," says PhyEd client Maude Dornfeld.

Amatuzio has hopes to expand and open more PhyEd Health Clubs in the future.

PhyEd Health Club opened its doors June first.
