It is vital to stress the importance of climate change with the younger generation... the kids that will one day be our future.

One artist has created an internet cartoon for children...hoping to raise their global awareness as meteorologist Shannon Murphy explains in "Your Green Life."

You're watching "Gorilla in the Greenhouse," an animated internet show created by Jay Golden.

"Have you ever seen a plastic bag out on the street? What do you do when you see it?"

One group of young students was eager to watch the very first episode.

"Well you guys are going to see. Do you want to see the movie?"

Here's the summary.

"It's about a group of kids and a green gorilla that finds out about this huge plastic bag island in the middle of the North Pacific, and figuring out that there is a guy with a worm in his head that's actually causing the problem. So there's four kids. "Bucket" embodies recycling. "Socket" is our techno, kind of techno tribal geek. "Scoot" is all about the ocean, and "Cypher" is our disguise artist."

And of course, a green gorilla.

"Who basically represent our connection to nature and then gets these visions, shares the visions that need to be interpreted by the kids. And this way, they talk things out, they try to problem solve. They do the research on the internet to figure it out."

So why create the show?

"Our goal is to create the most inspiring show on the internet that gets kids to think, to speak, and to act in a way that appreciates the planet and appreciates future generations. We can show problems becoming visions, becoming transformations. We can do that in animation, we can make it really fun."

Fun in the classroom too. Part of the Green Gorilla message is getting kids to get out and change the world, even if it means just learning the basics like the difference between paper and plastic.
