(NNCNOW.com) -- Officials at AAA say that gas prices in 2012 were the most expensive on record.
The national average price of gasoline in 2012 was $3.60 a gallon; the previous annual record was $3.51 a gallon set in 2011.
AAA Officials predict gas prices in 2013 will remain high, but are likely to be cheaper than last year due to increased domestic crude oil production and that demand is expected to remain lower than in recent years.
