Inmate Back in Custody After Escape

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - An inmate at the Northeast Regional Correctional Center escaped from custody Wednesday afternoon.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said Daniel James Daly, 41, was on a tour of the Arrowhead House in downtown Duluth when he ran.

Police eventually found him after conducting a high risk traffic stop at the corner of Lake Avenue and Superior just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Daly was a passenger in the car.

He was serving time for possession of a controlled substance, domestic assault and felony Violation of Order for Protection.

Daly is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a new charge of escape from custody.
