Alcohol Involved in Crash, Three Suffer From Life Threatening Injuries

(Northland's NewsCenter) --- Three people are fighting for their lives after a car accident in Sawyer County on Saturday.

Around 10:15 p.m., Steven Sutton of Hayward was driving on County Highway CC when he lost control, rolled and crashed into a ditch.

One passenger, Christa Debrot of Couderay was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to a hospital in Eau Claire and suffers from life threatening injuries.

Emergency crews extricated Sutton and one of his passengers, Andrew Crowe of Couderay from the vehicle. Both were taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth and suffer from life threatening injuries.

Authorities say nobody was wearing seatbelts and alcohol and high speed were factors in the accident.

This crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol and LCO Police Department.

Assisting agencies also included Sawyer County Sheriff's Department, LCO Fire Department, Winter Fire Department, Radisson Ambulance, Round Lake Ambulance, and Hayward Ambulance.
