Are you a night owl? It might help you save some money

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Are you a night owl? If you are, that might help you save some money if you decide to do things like your laundry at night.

Weekend and nights are times when most people use less electricity, and in order to balance electrical usage, Minnesota Power in Duluth is offering 24,000 Hermantown and Duluth customers a deal to save money through a pilot program to use electricity during off–peak hours. Those hours are between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

The deal is for those customers to use most of their electricity during off–peak hours, doing things such as showering, using the dishwasher and laundry.

If you move just half of your daytime electricity usage to nights, you could save about $15 per month.

Those who qualify for this offer will receive a notice in the mail. Only people who receive this notice can enjoy the savings.
