Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) Though the Christmas holidays have come to an end, there is still one gift you can give to those in need this holiday season; the gift of blood.
The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross will host a blood drive Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at its offices on Maple Grove Road in Duluth.
As many as 44,000 blood donations are needed every day across the country to meet the needs of patients.
To donate blood, you'll need a blood donor card, or a driver’s license or two other forms of ID.
You must also be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old
All blood types are needed and walk in donors are welcome.
"One unit of blood can save up to three lives,” Judy Hanne Gonzalez of the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross said. “[It's about the] impact that you have on other people, your neighbors your friends, people across the country, people you don't even know.”
All donors will be entered into a drawing for three gift cards.
