Duluth. MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Thousands gathered at Bayfront Festival Park on Tuesday night for the return of Bob Dylan, where the folk-rock legend received quite the homecoming.

It's been more than thirteen years since Bob Dylan last rocked Bayfront Park and this go-around things were no different, with fans new and old filling the park to catch the legend live.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing him back here, it's going to be a great show," said a Bob Dylan fan.

"I've listened to him for so long, so many years, that I just want to see him in person," said fan Greg Benson.

Whether they drove hundreds of miles or pedaled their way to Bayfront Park, die-hard Dylan fans say there isn't a bad seat in or out of the venue to catch Duluth's son.

"Once those people clear out down the middle there I should be able to see him pretty good from here."

Alice Myshack and her friend Marie staked out, outside the park to get a glimpse of the show drawing generations young and old.

They say the $70 per ticket kept them from getting a front row seat.

"He draws in a lot of old people and young people he's just a good performer," said Alice Myshack, Bob Dylan fan.

So whether you're in the front row or at the front gate, Dylan fans all agree it's great to have Dylan back on home turf.

"Don't know if I want to put anyone above anyone else here but I've never seen Bob," said Benson.

"We're all proud of him down here in Duluth and the surrounding areas," said Myshack.

And these Northland fans will now wait patiently until his next return.

Wilco, My Morning Jacket and Thompson Electric Trio opened the show for Bob Dylan and his band.

It was estimated that more than 7,000 people packed Bayfront Park on Tuesday to catch Dylan and his band.
