Booms Return to Clintonville

Clintonville, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Just when it appeared that the mystery booms in Clintonville, WI were over, another round of rumbles shakes the town.

According to WTMJ in Milwaukee, police received calls for over an hour late last night, reporting that the booms were longer and louder than they were last week.

Geologists were able to determine last week that a 1.5 magnitude earthquake had rocked the community causing the rumblings and booming sounds.

Clintonville City Administrator Lisa Kuss has asked for the experts to take another look at the booms after last night's episode.

One geophysicist Joe Bellini says that he looked at nearby seismometers and detected nothing from last night. However, he is considering putting a seismometer in Clintonville to get a better reading.

Bellini says it was most likely a swarm of small earthquakes, which typically happens across the country every year.

These booming sounds started last week on Sunday and had ended on Wednesday, until last night's re-occurrence.
