Massachusetts (NNCNOW.com) --- Bugs and a bird have been found in a drug-making facility linked to another pharmacy involved with the fungal meningitis outbreak.
Federal health investigators say they found those potential sources of contamination at Ameridose in Massachusetts.
The company is affiliated with the New England Compounding Center, the pharmacy linked to contaminated steroid shots and a multi-state outbreak of fungal meningitis.
32 people have died and hundreds more sickened due to this outbreak. In Minnesota, 12 cases have been confirmed in the meningitis outbreak, however no deaths have occurred in the state.
Investigators say they discovered Ameridose was not doing a good job of tracking patient complaints and did not adequately test the potency of its drugs.
A flying bird and a leaky ceiling were also found at the Massachusetts facility.
