Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A burglary in rural Duluth ended in a pursuit and arrest at the 148th Fighter Wing.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Department responded to the burglary in progress on Lismore Road in Duluth around 4:45 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say the 52-year-old man in that burglary stole the victim's 2005 Chevy Silverado along with numerous firearms.

Deputies ended up in a high speed pursuit with the suspect south on Rice Lake Road headed toward the Airport.

That's where authorities say the suspect crashed the stolen vehicle near the 148th Air National Guard base.

The suspect tried climbing the fence to the base and was arrested on the airfield.

The stolen items were recovered and the incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's department.

Multiple agencies including the Minnesota State Patrol, Duluth Police, Hermantown Police, DNR, Border Patrol, Air Guard, and Duluth Airport Security assisted in the incident.
